Hi everyone my name is Amy and I am currently enrolled in the VHS course American Popular Music. I am one of the three seventh graders from LMS who are currently taking an online course. From the very beginning I have enjoyed the course and still am now during Week 13!! I feel very lucky to be in this class and love the content that I am learning about. My course mainly focuses on the history on American music and how it shaped society as well as society shaped the music. Now, towards the end of the net course I am learning about the modern day recording industry. Also, even though I enjoy the course I have to say that the course consists of a lot of work. I've had to do tons of listening, researching, practically dissected the different parts of multiple songs, and many discussion assignments. But, overall by using my time wisely and enjoying the information in my course I think that this was a wonderful experience.

I took an intro to economics course on the vhs website. The course was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. All of the lessons were interesting, but they were time consuming and they weren't something you could put off until the last day and then wing it. You had to have a full understanding of the topics and you have to have the knowledge to apply it to the lesson. I was successful in this course and got good grades in both terms that we had to do. This class consisted of all high school students (they were also mostely upperclassman). I was the only middle school student. The teacher told me that I was one of the best students though, and how she could not believe that I was only a middle school student. In this class you had two main catagories of work. You either had a lesson that you submitted into the dropbox (the equivilent of handing something in to a real teacher) or you had a discussion. When you did the lesson, you could not see other students responses like you could in the discussion. I liked the discussions because our teacher made us comment on other student's responses and this kept conversations going and you got feedback. Overall I really enjoyed this class and I feel that I have an edge of other students as I have a basic understanding of economics. I was talking to one of my sisters friends who is in college at James Madison, and she was taking a class almost identical to mine. The only bad thing about this class is that it will take a lot of your time (though it does depend on the class), and if you have one like mine then you will have to work on weekends.

Hi everybody. My name is Winston and I took Employability Skills for the 21st Century. This course was about how to get a job in the tough economy of the 21st century. In my opinion, this was a helpful course that will help me later on. I think that VHS was a positive experience for me in that I got to meet new kids from over the country. It was an enjoyably course that made me a better and more confident person.

This course has been very beneicial and Ihave enjoyed it immesley. The course I took was Fundementals of Biology and it was very challenging. I'm not going to lie this course was a very heavy burden that I had to carry for a semester and I am glad in some ways that it is over. The course was alot of hard work and i dont think i knew what i was getting into at the begginging of the semester. but i have definatly added alot of biology to my knowledge. This course was challenging but i did have alot of fun with some of the online acticities.

Hi everyone this is Amy just posting her last thoughts before VHS comes to a close. I am pleased to say that I found the overall VHS experience fun and enriching. Although, while I thought my course of American Popular Music was terrific, my ILO (Indepentent Learing Opportunities)was a tiny bit repetitive and left a bit to be desired. All and all I think that by taking this course my horizons on music were broadened as well as some of my interests tapped into. I really do think that this was a great experience.
